"Cheap Eats" is another example of how I think the series has declined. I gave up on Cheap Eats publication more than a decade ago for the exact reasons AOF is quoting.<BR/><BR/>Anyway, I am based around the inner west...here are some of my favorites;<BR/><BR/> - Cafe Lalibela, Abol or Awash (all African in Footscray). Lovely African meal and a beer for < $15. Even interesting meals for Vego's.<BR/><BR/> - Hien Vuong at 37 Leeds St Footscray. Supreme stock Pho and Viet Salads...best in the area. Meal and a fancy drink < $10.<BR/><BR/> - Touks's in Seddon. Homemade baked beans (with pork belly and other meats) as a side dish to their eggs florentine. The chef really knows how to poach an egg. < $20 with a coffee.<BR/><BR/>Some great "old man" pubs lurking in the back streets too offering a meal and a pot for around $10.<BR/><BR/>I think the Lebanese restaurant that AOF was mentioning near the Mediterranean supermarket Brunswick is "Tiba's" at 504 Sydney Rd.
